Title I Reading

Title I provides funding for schools to help struggling students.  It is through Title I funding that we are able to work with small groups of students in reading.

At Big Spring, reading interventionists use targeted, research-based reading intervention programs with students in grades K - 3 that focus on phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency.    

Reading interventionists hold a Back to School Night, once students have been selected for interventions, to provide families with information on Title I, intervention programs, and information on how families can support their student's reading skill development.

There are also several family events and meetings held throughout the year.
