Mrs. Emma Shutt

Hi there! Welcome to 7th Grade ELA Gold. My name is Emma Shutt, and I'm thrilled to be your student's teacher this year. I am a graduate of Rutgers University, where I received my Master's in Education and Bachelors in English. I am also a certified teacher of the Gifted and Digital Tools.

I pride myself on creating a classroom community where students learn to take risks, challenge themselves, and fail forward. I am a momma, an Army wife, a writer, a country music lover, and a dedicated community volunteer. I serve as the middle school Student Council Advisor, and I am passionate about teaching students to be active members of their community. 

In my free time, I enjoy exploring with my son Greyson, being outside as often as possible, watching the Dallas Cowboys (potentially) kick butt, and exploring with my black lab, Vera. You can often find me cheering on the Bulldogs at a sporting event (:
