Welcome to my Teacher Page!

I am a Mathematics teacher for the 8th grade at Big Spring Middle School. I have been teaching in the district since 2001 (yes, I am old 😀).  I started with the school district teaching at the high school for about 6 years.  Ever since, I have been at the middle school teaching multiple classes and grade levels through the years. 

My goal is to help students learn by making connections to prior knowledge to achieve their best in math class.  I provide an environment in which students can work together, ask questions, and are free to learn from their mistakes.

The curriculum includes concepts from 5 areas:  The Number System, Expressions & Equations, Ratios, Geometry, and Statistics.  The best part of my job is seeing the students taking an interest in their work and learning and applying new concepts.
