Mrs. Erin Malick
Greetings, Bulldog Families! My name is Erin Malick. I am currently a first grade teacher at Mount Rock Elementary School. I have been with this district for 18 total years-- 11 of which were at Oak Flat Elementary and 7 at Mount Rock. I am originally from the western part of the state (Altoona), and I am a huge fan of Pittsburgh sports teams. I reside in the town of Newville with my husband and son. My son attends Big Spring Middle School, and he enjoys playing ice hockey, tooting the tuba, and hiking and camping with the Boy Scouts. We have a crazy black German shepherd who loves to run in incessant circles and chase squirrels, and an old disgruntled cat who prefers to spend the day in a content state of slumber. I graduated from Shippensburg University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood. I have been chipping away at earning my Master's degree from Shippensburg University with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. In my spare time I enjoy reading, doing crafty things, spending time in the great outdoors, and relaxing with my family. I consider myself to be a lively and engaging teacher who uses a great deal of songs, chants, and kinesthetic movement in my instruction.
