Project SHARE Summer Feeding Program for Kids

Big Spring School District is thrilled to communicate that Project SHARE is offering a Summer Feeding Program for Kids to the Big Spring Families! They will be opening another outlet at the First Church of God parking lot in Plainfield.  Families from the surrounding Big Spring area will be welcome to drive through while a week supply of breakfasts and lunches will be packed into their trunks. The items will be mostly shelf stable with a few fresh items, many of which are gathered from their gleaning program in the area. This year’s menus, which are often accompanied with recipes, are geared toward both good nutrition and taste. Some seasonal fruits and vegetables will also be provided.

Last year, Project SHARE turned away no one. This year, should they run out of their supply, the families will be given a voucher inviting them to come back on the following Monday!

Project SHARE will be open to all families with children without restrictions regarding income level or otherwise.  Once parents arrive, they should identify how many children are in their household and depart with their supplies for the week.

The Summer Feeding Program will take place on Fridays, from 9:00am – 11:00am, starting June 11th – August 13th.
