Fraudulent Phone Calls

The Big Spring School District has received reports that scammers are spoofing the middle school phone number 717-776-2471 as part of an effort to obtain personal information.   The caller states that you have been overcharged on your electric bill and are eligible to receive a refund.  These calls are fraudulent and you should hang up immediately.  Remember:  never give out – or confirm – personal information such as account numbers, social security numbers, passwords or other identifying information in response to unexpected calls, if you are at all suspicious.
