Remote Learning

BSSD Remote Learning

Big Spring School District will be using Remote Learning Days this year for days that present inclement weather.

If we use a Remote Learning Day, middle school and high school students will follow a remote schedule that has them logging in to a Google Meet to allow teachers the opportunity to explain the assignment for the day. Students will then complete the assignment from home that day. Seesaw or Google Classroom will be used by teachers to provide any needed materials.

Please note Google Meets begin at 9 AM for all students.

On a Remote Learning Day, elementary students will complete learning activities at home.

  • Teachers will share a choice board with learning activities through Seesaw or Google Classroom by 9 AM.
  • Students will complete one activity each in Reading, Math, and Writing or Science.
  • Students in grades 3–5 will bring devices home and complete i-Ready lessons in addition to the choice board activities.
  • Elementary students are not required to attend a Google Meet.
  • Work must be submitted within three days to be marked present.

Elementary teachers will be available by email (9:00–2:55) and Google Meet (9:00–11:00) to answer any questions and support students with their learning activities.
